The Playstation blog has revealed that PS3 owners who picked up a copy of Final Fantasy XIII today have found a nice surprise sitting inside the case. A Square Enix Members points card can be found in copies from the initial production run. Register this card at Square Enix Members and you’ll earn yourself a shiny special item to use in Final Fantasy XIV. Not only that, but you’ll put yourself in the running to be included in the Beta for the PS3 version of the online RPG.

This year's Game Developers Conference has barely started and already we're anticipating the inevitable sequel, which promises to feature bigger news, improved visuals (we're all working out for the next year) and dynamic crowd motion. Making a near-perfect game (according to the general consensus) is not a cheap undertaking — God of War III’s three year development caused Sony to pour $44 million into its Santa Monica studio, according to director of product development John Hight.
“We spent 44 million dollars to make God of War III,” Hight said at a recent promo event for the game. “And believe it or not that’s right within budget.”
