IO Interactive’s Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days has debuted big on the UK’s all-formats sales charts following its release last Friday. Managing a big jump over its predecessor — which peaked at number 14 in late 2007 — the criminal duo’s latest has become publisher Square Enix’s third number one game of the year. Vanquish demo debut set for early Sept

Vanquish, the first Shinji Mikami title under the PlatinumGames brand, will make its PSN and XBLA demo debut in Japan on Sept. 2. Producer Atsushi Inaba revealed a set of demo features to Gamespot Japan and Andriasang provided a helpful translation.
“Vanquish Official Demo – Velocity Attack” will allow players to test-run a prologue sequence, casual and normal difficulty settings, an auto-aim feature and a boss battle against Argos.

The week of August 9-15 was a quiet one for Japanese game retailers, with no new releases managing to crack the Media Create top 10 sales chart. Even a new release might have been hard-pressed to top the list, as Nintendo's minigame collection Wii Party continued to post gaudy numbers, selling nearly 125,000 copies in its sixth week of release.
