Playdom kills off almost all Acclaim games

In a move that no adoption agency would ever endorse, Playdom has basically killed off Acclaim just a few months after acquiring it, as Gamasutra reports. Acclaim's site says that all of its online games have been shut down as of August 26 and unused "Acclaim Coins" are being refunded. Acclaim is gone again. Or at least the reborn version of it is. The Acclaim we knew as a publisher in 90s went down in 2004, but the company’s IPs and name were sold off, which led to a reincarnation of Acclaim as a free-to-play service that once had 15 million registered users playing games like MMO 9Dragons and rhythm game RockFree.
